    USA PATRIOT ACT
    acronym -- Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism. The Patriot Act was unconstitutional because it allowed search warrants without having a reason. It’s important so that we can try and prevent another terrorist attack from happening.
    Result: prevents terrorists attacks
  • President Bush Responds to the Attacks

    President Bush Responds to the Attacks
    When Bush found out he was in Florida visiting a Primary School. Sep. 11 He started “War on Terror” then invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. He said that He would hunt down the terrorists who had planned or helped out on the attacks.
    Result: He enacted the Homeland Security Act and declared war on Afghanistan.

    The war on Terror is declared on September 11th following the events that had happened earlier in the day. The objective of the whole war was to kill the terrorist group that was responsible for the attack.
    The Result- Prevented any further terroist attacks

    Search and Rescue/Cleanup at Ground Zero
    Cleanup took 18 months and 19 days. People looked throughout the rubble cleaning it up but also looking for survivors but they only found 12 survivors. 36,000 units of blood was donated to New York blood Center. It took 102 minutes to take out the Flames.
    The Result- People helped clean and find the few survivor that they could help.

    People helped clean and Donate money to the war. They also supplied supplies that would help out with the war to the military/ war.
    Result: helped save and clean up New York City

    The War in Afghanistan started on October 7, 2001 and is still going on to this day. Their main point was to “collapse” the Taliban, because they provided refuge for Al-Qaeda, who were responsible for the 9/11 attacks and all the people who died that day.
    The Result- its still going on today

    The Homeland security act was put in place in 2002. The Homeland Security act was created to prevent more terrorist attacks from happening and to minimize the damage and cleanup.
    Result: Helps prevent terrorist attacks
  • War in Iraq

    War in Iraq
    The war in Iraq started on March 19, 2003. The first phase of the war was mainly Britain and the U.S. invading Iraq and vanquishing the Iraqi army and lasted one month. The second phase lasted a lot longer it lasted from April 2003-2011. During the second phase, the Iraqi started to rebel against the US army. In 2007 the US forces slowly started to leave Iraq. The war ended in 2011.
    Result: The war was a mistake and should not have happened

    In remembrance of 9/11 a memorial was made in New York City ,where the original towers were, containing all the names of the people killed in the buildings, on the planes, firefighters, and policemen.
    Result: We remember what happened on 9/11

    The Hunt for Bin Laden
    May 1, 2011. American soldiers hunted and killed the al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.They killed him at his compound which was near Islamabad, Pakistan. He was the leader of the terrioist attacks, He was FBI’s most wanted.
    The Result- Heisn't around trying to kill innocent people anymore.
