    In february of 1789 George was elected first president of the United States of America, he took the oath of office in New York City on April 14th 1789. George was elected a second time on December 5th 1792. After serving 2 terms as President, Washington retired and moved to Mount Vernon with his wife Martha, where he later died of pneumonia. Video
