    Jason is told that if he wants sovereignty of the kingdom he must go on a quest to find the Golden Fleece - he agrees, and gathers a group of men to set sail on Argo with him.

    Jason and the Argonauts encountered the harpies and saved an old man, Phineus, from them. Jason fought an army of men with enchanted weapons.

    Approach

    Jason and the Argonauts finally near Colchis, the land of the Golden Fleece. Jason has just gotten the surprise news that there's a dragon guarding the Fleece, so he's more than a little freaked out.

    Jason's first task was to plow a field using fire-breathing oxen. Medea gave Jason an ointment that protected him from the fire. Next he had to sow dragon's teeth in the field, causing an army of stone warriors to appear. Following Medea's advice, Jason threw a stone into the crowd of warriors, that caused them to kill each other. Jason's final task was to take the fleece from a sleepless dragon, a sleeping potion provided by Medea, however, was enough for Jason to overcome the dragon.

    Result

    After receiving the fleece, Jason and the Argonauts left along with Medea. Aeeted tried to follow but Medea killed her brother and threw his pieces into the sea causing Aeetes to stop and retrieve them. Zeus angered Medea's act, caused numerous storms. As they sailed, they encountered other trials.

    When the Argonauts returned, Jason found his father at a very old age. Jason asked Medea to transfer some of his life to his father. Medea was able to add some life to his father's years. Pelias' daughters asked Medea to do some for Pelias, but she tricked them into killing him. Pelias' son then exiled both Jason and Medea.

    Jason and Medea went to Corinth, where Jason fell in love with and engaged with Creusa. Medea, infuriated, confronted Jason who ignored her. Medea then proceeded to kill Creusa, Creusa's father who died trying to save her, both her and Jason's sons, abandoning Jason and flying to Athens on a dragon chariot sent by her grandfather Helios.

    Years later, Jason managed to reclaim the throne of Iolcus with the help of his friend Peleus. However he remained lonely having lost the favor of Hera after breaking his vows to Medea. He died sleeping under the stern of his ship, which after rotting, had fallen on him.
