The Hungarian Parliament discusses freedom of association and assembly and this allows the creation for independent political parties. Using this idea, the people started to revolt and protest for democracy, which eventually led to the fall of communism in Hungary.

The trade union is legalized in Poland and they finally begin to remove themselves from the Soviet's grip. This union was called Solidarity and was the first union not owned by a communist party. It participated in movements to gain free elections. Later, this party would forma coalition government with Poland's United Workers Party, and dominated Poland's government.
