In the 1980's some american people were held hostage in Irean. Some poeple put yellow ribbon on trees, porches, and saign posts to show support for the poeple being held hostage. The hosatge were blind folded, bound, beaten, and abused. President Carter tried to rescue them but it did not work. Three helicopters broke down and one crashed. The pepole were all finally freed on January 20, 1981. They were nearly held 15 months in captive. -
