  • The 40th President

    The 1980 United States presidential election was for the 40th president. This election is known to be the highest electoral votes towards any presidential nominee in American history, with Reagan's win count of 489 and his opponent with only 49.
  • Nintendo Entertainment System

    An original gaming console released in the U.S on October 18, 1985, and was created by Japanese designer Uemura Masayuki.
  • The Challenger

    On January 28, 1986, the space shuttle Challenger exploded during lift off, killing all on board including school teacher, Christa McAuliffe.
  • The Tax Reform Act of 1986

    The Tax Reform Act of 1986 was signed into law by President Ronald Reagan on October 22, 1986. The act was designed to simplify the federal income tax code and broaden the tax base by eliminating many tax deductions and tax shelters.
  • Pan Am Flight 103

    A regular flight flying over Lockerbie, Scotland had a bomb planted on it and only 40 minutes into the it the plane exploded killing 259 people on board the aircraft.
  • Cold War ends

    In late 1991 the Soviet Union started to dissolve into its component republics and soon the the Cold War came to an end by George W. Bush at the Malta Summit by declaring it to be over.
  • Hubble Space Telescope

    Launched during a Space Shuttle Discovery mission, the Hubble Space Telescope often referred to as the HST, is a space telescope that allows us to see further in space and to this day it remains in operation.
  • Oklahoma City Bombing

    The Oklahoma City Bombing was an attack on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. This attack killed about 168 people and was known as the worst tragedy on US soil during that time.
  • 9/11 Attacks

    On September 11, 2001 four airplanes were hijacked while in flight. The first flight that crashed into one of the Twin Towers in New York City seemed as if it was an accident crash but then another plane crashed into the other tower and everyone soon came to realize that it was a terrorist attack. Then after another plane crashed into the Pentagon and the fourth was crashed in a field in PA after the passengers on board gained control over the aircraft.
