  • Executive Order 9066

    This order was issued by President FDR after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. Americana’s were afraid that there were unlocalized citizens in America. This order relocated all people of Japanese descent. They were all put into relocation camps. This was devastating for many Americans and destroyed the lives of innocent people.
  • GI Bill

    This bill was passed in order to support veterans. Some benefits included guaranteed loans to buy homes in order to encourage home ownership and money for college tuition to encourage education.
  • D-Day

    This was the most ambitious attack in history that changed the tide of the war. This battle took place on the beaches of Normandy in France and with the win for the US, it ultimately led to victory in Europe during WWII.
  • First Atomic Bomb Dropped

    On August 6, the United States dropped the 1st atomic bomb on Hiroshima. The war got the this point because Japanese refused to surrender. The bomb was called “Fat Man.”
  • End of WW2

    On September 2, the United States accepted the Japanese formal surrender in order to end World War II. This was a big day in history as it signified the close of the biggest war in history.
  • Beginning of the Cold War

    After WWII, there was stroll some remaining tension between the US and the Soviet Union. This time period was known as the Cold War because no one ever actually declared war.
  • The Marshall Plan

    The Marshall plan was when America invested money into Europe’s economy after they had struggled since the war. The US invested $13 billion into their recovery.
  • Conviction of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg

    They were many concerns with espionage in America and these two were sentenced to death after being convicted of giving information to the Soviet Union about atomic bombs.
