    Born in the German city of Stettin. Catherine was the daughter of Prince Christian August and Johanna Elizabeth. She later traveled to Russia with her mother.

    At the age of 14, Peter and Catherine had gotten married. It was an unhappy marriage, no love or affection, and unfaithful to one another. They had 3 kids together, Paul, Anna, and Alexis.
