    The Battle of Stalingrad took place on the Eastern Front between German and Russian troops. Stalingrad was an important city for Russia, because it held many industrial centers and would be a key city for the Germans to take over. The German Army was eventually defeated and many of the men were taken prisoners.
  • Battle of El Alamein

    Battle of El Alamein
    The Battle of el Alamein took place in the North African Theatre in which the german troops gave up their control over this territory. The Allie troops and Axis powers fought in the second battle on this territory. This would become one of the truning points on the European Front during world War 2 because it would be the first steps to pushing the Germans and Italians out of Northern Africa.

    The Battle of the Kassarine pass was the first time US forces would fight against german troops. Fought in the Northern Africa Theatre, The defeat against the German troops did not come easily, as the amount of casualities from the Allies was more than double the number of the German troops.

    This Battle took place in the North African Theater. In this battle North Africa was liberated from the German and Italian Troops. This battle took place between British, German and Italian troops. The British deafeated the German and Italian troops and took many of them as prisoners.

    The Battle of Kursk was fought on the eastern Front. The result of the battle was the defeat of the Germans . This Battle lead to the liberation of Ukraine from the Hands of the German troops. The Battle of Kursk also was the location of the German offensive plan known as "Citadel" in which was a failure.

    More an Invasion than a battle, This invasion took place on the Western front. The invasion marked the landing of German and british troops in Italy, in which they would later go on to defeat many German troops. The invasion of Italy marked a campign which would spread to surrounding cities and lead to the Liberation of cities such as Sicily.

    The Battle of Anzio took place in the Western/Italian Theatre. the German army was once again defeated and the Allie troops, with American forces, were able to enter the city in the days after 7,000 men were killed on the Allied side and 5,000 on the german side with over 60,000 missing or wounded or missing on both sides.

    The battle of monte Cassino took place on the western front in italy. The main objective of the battle on the Allie side was to liberate remaining parts of Italy that were still under German control. The battle took place in four seperae battles that overall lead to the collapse of the Gustav line. This battle would be one of the longest during the war.

    Normandy Invasion/ D Day
    Known as D-Day, the Normandy invasion took place in the Western theatre on the Shores of France. Hitler and his forces thought that the Allie troops would land in Pas-De-Calais and Belguim, so the Allie troops coming a shore took the troops off gaurd. Over 160,000 soldiers invavded the territory, coming on the land from U-boats in the ocean. The invasion orginally went under the code Name "Overlord". 9,000 soldiers on the Allie side were killed or wounded.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    The Battle fo the Bulge took place in the western front. The battle centered around the town of Bastonge. The 100 and 1 Airborn was trapped inside.Hiter tried to out off the Allied forces, but was un-successful. When the German tanks ran out of fuel, this signaled a time for the Allie troops to take control and get inside the city. The battle came to a close when Patton's Third army and the 2nd Armored Division stopped enemy tanks. The battle would one of the last on the Western front.
  • Battle of Remagen

    Battle of Remagen
    The capture of the Bridge at Remagen took place in the western theatre. During this battle, the US troops launched Operation Lubmberjack, which helped them advanced into the cities surrounding the bridge. The German's in order to prevent the Allies from crossing, blew a 30 foot crater in the bridge. In order to cross, many soldiers jumped over the span. This battle allowed for Allied troops to gain major territory in Germany. Hitler was very upset and had the makers of the bridge executed.
  • Battle of Berlin/ Berlin Falls

    Battle of Berlin/ Berlin Falls
    The Battle of Berlin which lead to the ultimate fall of the city took place in both the Eatsern and Western Theatres. The Battle would mark the end of the War in Europe. When troops reached the city, Many of the people fighting for the German's were children. Weapons and tanks were used on both sides. The city of Berlin surrendered on May 2nd and the German's surrendered on May 7th. A red flag was raised to signal the end of the battle.
