    The Battle of Britain was one of the first battles to be fought entirely by an air force alone. It was also named the largest and most ihghly sustained airial bombing during that time. It was meant to gain more power in the air than the Royal Air Force. The Germans mainly targeted ports and shipping centers but later shifted to the airfields.

    A program by the US to lease out artillery to France, China, USSR, and Great Britain. While payed in cash other countries had to come and get the weapons themselves.

    Battle of Stalingrad

    Nazi Germany fought against the Soviet Union for control of southern Russia. Specifically targetting Stalingrad now known as Volgograd. There was many incedents of close-quarters combat and air raids.

  • Battle of the Bulge

    The Battle of the Bulge was an offensive assault launched by the Germans against France, Belgium and Luxemberg. The assault was planned by a German commander named Eric von Manstein in order to bring the harbor Antwerp back under German control.

    Battle of Iwo Jima

    One of the major battles between Japan and the US in which the USAF captured Iwo Jima from the Japanese army and was later named Operation Detachment.
  • V-E Day

    European victory day created to celebrate unconditional surrender of armed forces by Hitlers successor Karl Donitz. The actual treaty was signed on May 7th but is celebrated the next day.
  • Warsaw Pact

    A collective defense trearty involving 8 communist states within Europe and provided German integration into NATO.
