The Japanese soldiers were ordered to mass kill and rape tens of thousands of people after China didn't put up an easy fight in the battle of Shanghai. The amount of Chinese people killed in the massacre was between 100000 and 300000 people. Nanjing was destroyed.

The first big concentration camp to get liberated was Majdanek in Lublin, Poland, in 1944 by the Soviet Union. The last concentration camp to be liberated was Stutthof on May 9, 1945, in Poland by the allies. The Soviet troops were closing into Germany and kept discovering the camps. On September 2, 1945, Japan signed their surrender but it was announced August 14, 1945.Japan surrendered due to the damage on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and didn't know if more cities would be bombed. America dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima on August 6,1945, and three days later dropped another bomb on Nagasaki. America was trying to force Japan to surrender because they would fight until everyone was dead. 80000 people died instantly and if they didn't die they got injured and radiation poisoning.
