    German troops trapped thousands of Allied soldiers at the French port of Dunkirk which were nearly all of British forces. Allied ships and civilian boats saved many and carried them back to Great Britian.
    Showed the was wasnt easy and how important the rescued forces were for Great Britians defense later on
    Also showed the bravery of soldiers and logic of no man left behind

    This is what convinced the United States to declare war

    Japan forced thousands of Allie soldiers hostage to march through the forests of Bataan-- resulting in many deaths due to sickness and starvation
    Showed that the war was hard and many people had to sacrifice.
    Also was another thing to add to the list of reasons the U.S would "get back at" Japan.
