A mass genocide of 6 million by the Nazi's. Not only Jews were targeted, but other ethnic groups and beliefs were targeted as well. There were over 16 million deaths over all. -
War begins in Europe
The war started by Germany invading Poland. This made Britain and France declare war on Germany. many more would follow. -
War ends in Europe
The allies started taking more axis prisoners. This reduced their numbers. They eventually surrender -
Battle of Britain
This was towards the beginning of the war. Britain was defending from the invasion of Germany. More than 3000 were killed. -
Pearl Harbor
It was a surprise attack by the Japanese on America. This led to America's entry into WWII. Over 2,000 were killed. -
D-Day
Also known as the Normandy landings. This was when the allies invaded France to take it back from Germany. They invaded from the water. -
Atomic bombs
On August 6th, 1945, the first atomic bomb, little boy was dropped on the city of Hiroshima. On August 9th, 1945, the second bomb, fatman, was dropped on Nagasaki. These both caused mass destruction.
