    Battle of Britain
After Hitler takes control of France, he goes after Britain through attacks from the German Luftwaffe (Air Force). Britain was able to hold its ground, but would eventually need more weapons and supplies. America at the time tried to stay neutral, but came in to help Britain by lending supplies through the Lend Lease Act (America would lend supplies and have them returned when the war was over). Through this help, Britain was able to push back German forces and win the Battle of Britain.

After the blitz, a 9 month bombing on Britain, Hitler was convinced that their only major threat left standing was the Soviet Union. Hitler breaks the German-Soviet non-aggression pact and invades the Soviet Union through blitzkrieg. The blitzkrieg worked at first, but Russia is huge and Stalin was just able to move factories east and destroy supplies to stop Germany’s advancement. By December, Hitlers army retreats, exhausted and cold.

Soon after that, Germany retreated across the Seine on August 30, signifying the end of Operation Overlord.
  • Yalta Conference

    Yalta Conference
The Yalta/Crimea Conference, code named the Argonaut Conference, was a conference between United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union, represented by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Prime Minister Winston Churchill, and Premier Joseph Stalin. The conference was meant to decide the reorganization of Europe. With the Cold War happening a few years later, the Yalta Conference became a subject of controversy and still kinda is.
