After WWI the world went into a period of unemployment. This was one of the many factors to the start of WWII. -

This was another factor of WWII, Japan invaded Manchuria without declarations of war. The reason they invaded was because their land was scarce and they didn't have enough raw materials. -

Hitler was the leader of the Nazi party and very influential; not in a good way. If it weren't for him and his propaganda WWII probably wouldn't have happened. During this year he also held the holocaust (a genocide of Jewish people). -

During this event the Nazi's had racist policies and countries wanted to boycott the games. America installed black athletes, to provoke Germany, and won 17 medals. These were 1/4 of the 52 medals being handed out. -
Japan occupies Eastern China
Japan was the first fascist nation to expand their land. According to John Green he said that this was the "start" of WWII -
Germany Invades Poland
Hitler convinces Germany that they have to invade Poland through propaganda. This was the start WWII and the ending year of the Great Depression. -
Nazi's take over France
The Nazi's were using Hitler's military tactic Blitz Kreig and conquering new lands. France couldn't hold them off and surrendered. They later withdrew from the war 3 days later. -
Battle of Britain
This marked a turning point in the war. Germany failed to control full air power and Europe was able to defeat them. This was the first major battle Germany lost. -
Japan Bombed Pearl Harbor
This action caused the neutral United States to join the war. They joined the Allied side and helped Britain fight the war in the European and Asian Theater. -
US makes WPB (War Production Board)
The US made this a month after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. This is a special agency that supervised War Production during the war. -
Nazi's retreat from North Africa
The Nazi's took over North Africa during their campaign, but the Allies fought against them and drove them out. The Nazi's couldn't maintain power in North Africa. -
D-Day
156,000 American, Canadian, and British soldiers invaded Normandy. Even though they were successful in liberating Western Europe a lot of soldiers died in pursuit. -
Nuremberg War Crimes Trials
These were trials held to accuse Nazi War criminals. These were held by the Allied Forces, the US, France, and Britain, their sentence was hanging or imprisonment.
