    Soviet expansion
    After Germany attacked Poland, the Soviet Army invaded Poland. Poland eventually collapsed and gave in and that gave Germany and the Soviet Union full control over Poland. After this the Soviet Union and Germany continued to gain control over many different smaller countries.

  • Battle of Britain

    Battle of Britain
    The Battle of Britain was fought against Britain and Germany, with France busy with rebuilding their army Hitler aimed for the British. They air forces battled it out against each other and Britain was able to hold their own even though they had a smaller Air Force and less materials. Germany then bombed larger and more populated cities in Britain every single night for several months. The British had to move children and citizens because of the severe bombings.

  • Operation Barbarossa

    Operation Barbarossa
    This was the German invasion of the Soviet Union. This invasion was a big deal because Germany broke the German-Soviet non-aggression pact and it was the biggest land invasion in history. This invasion harmed many people and imprisoned a lot of Soviet Union citizens. Germany’s strategy worked at first but the Soviet Union was too big for them to conquer, and the harsh Russian weather greatly affected the German soldiers; over 850,000 deaths and injuries were caused.

  • Operation Torch

    Operation Torch
    This was an invasion of French North Africa by the Allies. They wanted to push Germany out so Americans were attempting to push the Germans East while the British troops pushed them West. They ended up succeeding and pushing the Axis forces out of Africa. America also sent many bombers to 0England for the future plan of bombing Germany constantly.

    Operation overlord
    This was a code name for the Battle of Normandy. The battle of Normandy was the invasion of Europe that was occupied by Germany by the Allies. This was the biggest amphibious invasion in history, they had many traveling weapons and soldiers coming from many different ways.

  • Conference of Yalta

    Conference of Yalta
    The conference of Yalta was a conference between the Allies to handle Germany and Europe’s post war reorganization. Germany got divided into four post-war occupation zones controlled by the United States, Britain, and the Soviet Union. They also divided up parts of Berlin.
