    Japanese invade China, in effort to demolish the Nationalist Government of Chiang Kai. During the Invasion Japan occupied many areas in Eastern China.

    Soldiers in the Japanese Army killed over 300,000 soldiers and civillians in the city on Nanking. The Japanese intent was to take over the city and ensue fear.

    Neville Chamberlain tries to avoid war with Nazi Germany, as he perm its Hitler to invade Czechoslovakia. The agreement was also signed by Germany, France, and Italy.

    Germany Invades Sudetenland
    The Nazis cross over to western Czechoslovakia, in order to create living space for the Aryan race. They invade Sudetenland, Czecholovakia and take control. Hitler's other main focus was to take down Sudetenland's Nationalist Government and let Nazism reign. This was due to the appeasement policy Chamberlain gave hitler, to take control of Sudetenland.

    In the course of two days, over 250 synagogues, were burned, over 7,000 Jewish stores were trashed and looted, and Dozens of Jews died. This was caused over the German anger over a Nazi official that was killed by a Jewish teenager.

    26 countries including more Allied Forces signed the Declaration of United Nations which denote countries in the Axis Forces such as Germany, Italy, and Japan.

    The mass murder of Jews starts in Auschiwitz. Originally prison and labor camps, Auschiwitz was part of the Nazi Final Solution to exterminate all Jews.
  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    Filipino and American Bataan troops surrender to the Japanese. Being prisoners of war, about 80,000 prisoners of war walked about 65 miles in a group. Anyone seen slagging in the back was either bayoneted or shot.

    The Battle of Midway was the turning pint of war in the Pacific. Code breaking had a majore role in this attack, being able to pinpoint Japan's few aircraft carriers, allowing the U.S to take an offensive stance.

    Hitler broke his traty with the Soviet Union and invaded Russia. His main purpose was to create living space for his Aryans. In Febuary 2, due to the lack of knowledge the Nazi's had of Nazi waether, Germany surrenders due to lack of Ammunition and food.

    Operation Overlord. This was the largest seaborne invasion in history. This attack was in Normandy, France aiming to have an opening to invade Germany.

    A major battle in which the U.S Marines took the Japanese island of Iwo Jima. As the Japanese surrendered over 21,000 of their soldiers died.

    One of the largest Pacific Battles in WWII with 287,000 U.S troops against 130,000 Japanese soldiers, At steak were air bases vital to the invasion of Japan. By the end of the 82-day war Japan finally surrendered and have had over 77,000 casualties.

    Adolf Hitler commits suicide and it is on of the turning points of the war, knowing Germany is done.

    Germany finally surrenders and it becomes victory for Great Britain and the United States.

    The U.S drops the world's first deployed atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima, Japan. This bomb wiped out 90% of the city and killed 80,000 people immeadiately. Three Days later, a second atomic bombs dropped in Nagasaki killing over 40,000 people.
  • Japan Surrenders

    Japan unconditionally surrenders in WWII. Japanes air force and navy have been destroyed. The Allied naval bockade and intensive bombing left Japanese cities economically devastated. In surrender, Japans Emperor Hirohito announced on radio his countries surrender citing the devastating power of a new and cruel bomb.

    Since Japan surrendured in August 15, the U.S and Japanese held a ceremony on the USS Missouri and President Truman declared it to be V-J Day; Victory in Japan.
