Japanese forces defeated a combined U.S. and Filipino army in the battle of Bataan. In the battle of battaan there were so many american soldiers captured theat we didn't know what to do. Many of the captured troops died at the camp. -

The germans thought they could cut through the allied forces in a manner that waould turn the tide of the war in Hitlere's favor. the men in the battle would die from starvastion and from the cold weather. -

On february 19, 1945, 30,000 marines beagn their assault on Iwo Jima. Iwo Jima is a small island in southern japan. The japanese put up a fight until the U.S. just wouldnt back down. -
The Atomic Bomb
At 8:15am a U.S. B-29 bomber dropped an atomic bomb. Three days later a second bomb was dropped in Nagasaki. The atomic bombs were very dangerous and would kill alot of people.
