1/20/1918 Letter to Forbes dad -
Forbes writes a letter stating his father hasn't written back to him and is worried. He talks about how he wants to go home in a month, but things have changed, and he doesn’t know when he will. Forbes is homesick. I assume he had a brother named Andrew in the war, too. I think the brother is going home in two weeks, and he's trying to get his last chance to see him in France. -
Letter to Forbes’ father about how he left the camp and traveled hundreds of miles across the river. He describes how when they arrived at the destination in Flordia, everyone was cold and damp so they had to cuddle up to keep warm. In the 3 pg, he compares the French and Americans carrying on the war.

11/19/1918 - a Christmas card to his family
He's talking about how excited he was and his experience seeing guns, the Eiffel Tower, and parties.
He must leave early in the morning to go to Touri and return to his camp. -
11/20/1918 Letter to his father about his trip from Toui
During his trip, the YMCA planned activities for them. Forbes had fun. He watched movies, played games, went to the casino, slept in had a good breakfast, and danced. -

Back to Toui, he talks about what he had for dinner, the games, and the movies he watched and played
Missing his family at home. -
4/13/1919 letter to Forbes's father - Forbes has no idea when he’s going home he thinks he might be in France for 4 more months. In the letter, he seems sad about still staying longer. He suggested that his father could try and get information to see if Forbes could return home as soon as possible.
The Germans and French were at war and the French lost thirty thousand so it was left to the Americans Andrew will be going home while Forbes is still at the camp. -
5/5/1919 letter to his father - Forbes is expected to leave June fiftieth
Until he got the news that the Germans were going to use the center as a war camp and that meant he would be there for 4 more months. Forbes and his other mates are disappointed by the news.
They keep each other entertained by playing baseball.
Forbes sprains his ankle and couldn't play for a week. -
9/2/1919 a letter from Juliette, a French woman Forbes met overseas -
She talks about how she should come over to his house when she gets her passport
Sending pictures of their family so she can have a memory in her home of Forbes. -
12/26/1918 pg 1- I think a short letter to his father about how he was trying to visit Andrew. Pg 2- Andrew (his brother) returned for Christmas and Forbes was happy to see him. He described him as looking nice. Pg 3 - Forbes and others in his camp received packages from the YMCA, a wonderful dinner,
