Austria thought Serbia had something to do with the assassination this ultimately led to Austria declaring war. Which led to world war one starting. -
the major event in the US was declaring neutrality which was significant for Germany because that meant one less country to fight on the western front. Another significant event was Britain declare war which meant the war was in full blast. -

The treaty was officially signed destroying Germany as a power or we thought it would. This treaty would result in all of Germany being pissed of at the allies this treaties was one of Germanys main reasons for world war 2. This officially made peace in America and nothing like it would happen again, right? -
on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month the war was over the central powers had surrendered. This ended the bloodiest war before WW2. The still living American troops were able to finally come home but not all troops made it 53,402 recorded American deaths and even more unrecorded.
