    Ends May 8, 1945. Hitler had an idea of "the perfect person" who had blonde hair and blue eyes. Jews were frownded upon and looked at as the ones responsible for all their problems. They captured all Jews and put them in concentration camps and brutally murdered hundreds and thousands of Jews.
  • Japan Invades China

    Japan Invades China
    Japan invaded China for raw materials such as oil, iron, steel, and machinary. They were no longer getting anything from the US and so they needed to find new supplies.
  • Munich Conference

    Munich Conference
    This was an agreement between Great Britain, France, Italy, and Germany in an attempt to avoid war. Hitler continued to attack and invade territories even after the Munich Conference which was a cause that led to The World War 2.
  • Non-Aggression Act

    Non-Aggression Act
    This Pact was between the Nazi party and SOviet Union. They met up and signed the Non-Aggression Pact. This guarenteed neutrality between the two countries. Because of this pact, germany had protected itself from a two-front war in the upcoming World War 2. However, when Germany attacked the Soviet Union no more than two years later, the pact ended.
  • Germany Invades Poland

    Germany Invades Poland
    This is the act that started World War 2. Germany attacks with no warning or declaration of war. They cut off and isolated Poland, forcing them to surrender.
  • Battle of Britain

    Battle of Britain
    Ends October 31, 1940. After Hitler invaded and conquered most of Europe, all there was left was Great Britain. Hitler knew he would need to destroy Gerat Britain's Royal Air Force. Only after that, he could invade Great Britain. They ended up bombing GB.
  • Blitskrieg

    Blitskrieg
    Ended May 21, 1941. Blitzhried meaning "lightning" war. United Kingdom was bombed repeatedly by the German Nazis in the Second World War.
  • Lend Lease Act

    Lend Lease Act
    This gave the president power to sell, exchange, lease or lendequipment to nations who no longer felt vital to American Security. It ended up extending over $50 billion.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    Operation Barbarossa
    This was the code name for Germany to invade the Soviet Union during World War 2.There were about 4 million soldiars of the Axis Powers that invaded the USSR. This is known to be the largest invasion in history. In this invasion, they used motor vehicles and horses.The end result caused a high rate of fatalities.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Pearl Harbor
    The attack on Pearl Harbor was a complete surprise. Many Japanese fighter planes flew over to drop bombs a invade Pearl Harbor. They dropped bombs and torpedos on the ships and destroyed the US fighter palnes so they couldn't fight back, There were two waves of attack, and by the second wave the US ships were detroyed.
  • Wannsee Conference

    Wannsee Conference
    This was a meeting for the seniors of the Nazi German party held in the suburbs of Wannsee. They came to the conclusion that they were going to wipe out the entire race of Jews. This meant murdering anyone who looked, talked, resembled anything to what a Jew might look like.
  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    US surrendered to the Japanese during World War 2 and the troops were forced to go walk a 65 mile was to the prison camps. They walked in intense heat under harsh punishments by the Japanese guards. Thousands of people died.
  • Battle of Midway

    Battle of Midway
    Ends June 6, 1942. This was one of the most important naval battles during World War 2. Only 6 months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, US came back with revenge with a big defeat on Japan.They were able to break the Japanese code and stopped the ambush and were one step ahead of them. They destroyed the Japanese Navy. This victory led the US and its allies into an offensive position.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    Battle of Stalingrad
    Ends Febuary 2, 1943. The Soviet Union successfully defended against the USSR during World War 2. Known as one of the bloodiest battles in World War 2, it stopped the German advance into the Soviet Union. A combination of military and civilian casualties led to about 2 millions deaths.
  • D-Day

    Britain, America, Canada, and France attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy. Over 150,000 soldiers of the Allies attacked and led in a victory that became the turning point for World War II in Europe.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Ends January 25, 1945. This was a major battle in Europe during World War 2. The was the last attempt for Germany to drive the Allies of the mainland of England. Most of the Allied troops were Americans. This was considered the greatest battles every fought by the US military.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Ends March 26, 1945. This was between the US and Japan. This was the first major battle on Japanese territory. The US thought Iwo Jima was a smart location for fighter planes and bombers to land and take off for the attack against Japan.
  • Battle of Okinawa

    Ends June 22, 1945. This was the last major battle in World War 2 in the Pacific Islands.It is estimated to about 287,000 US troops against 130,000 Japanese troops. There were major air bases important to the invasion of Japan that could be in danger. Altogether, Japan had lost over 77,000 soldiars and the US had over 65,000 casualties, including 14,000 deaths.
  • V-E Day

    V-E stands for Victory in Europe. This is the day the Nazi party surrendered to the Allies. It was also known as the day that ended Adolf Hitler's Third Reich.
  • The Bombing of Hiroshima/Nagasaki

    The world's first atomic bomb was dropped over the Japanese city of Hiroshima by an American bomber. 90% of the city was completely wiped out. There were about 80,000 immediate deaths and even more later from radiation exposure. Three days later, a second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. This one killed nearly 40,000 people.
  • V-J Day

    V-J is known as Victory over Japan. Japan surrendered to the Allies ending World War 2. This day was the day of the formal surrender ceremony, however the official day of surrender was August 14th and 15th.
  • Warsaw Pact

    This was a treaty between 8 communist states of Europe. This was the Soviet Union's response towards Germany in the involvement of joining NATO. However, they did not accept the request.
