Japan was getting tired of China resisting their invasion. Due to them resisting so much Japan ordered for Nanking to be destroyed. This day became known as "The Rape of Nanking" because around 150,000 men where buttered, 50,000 mutilated, and 20,000 women were raped. Blitzkrieg was the strategy that Hitler used throughout the entirety of World War II. Blitzkrieg is translated to "Lightning War." This tactic was supposed to stop Germany from being put in a long term war. This worked at first but Hitler went after the Soviet Union. The fall of France or Paris was due to a German attack on the northwestern side of France. Germany surrounded the Allies on all sides forcing them into defeat. Operation Barbarossa was the beginning of World War II. Operation Barbarossa is when Hitler put into action the invasion of the Soviet Union. This was aimed to destroy the military the Soviet Union had. The attack on Pearl Harbor was buy none other then Japan. When Japan did this they thought that the U.S. would not be willing nor ready to fight back. At the Wannnsee conference Hitler talked about "The Final Solution." To him the final solution was to murder any Jews he saw anywhere. On this day the allied army's that were against Germany sent boats, aircrafts, and tanks to the beach in Normandy, France. They sent around 7,000 ships with around 140,000 men on board. This event led to a ton of deaths and casualties. During this time U.S. soldiers would find the concentration camps and let the people know that it was over and that they were free. This was the first time that an atomic bomb was dropped. This happened by the U.S. They dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
