The longest military battle trhough out the entire war. The battle was over an Allied blockaded of a Axis port and the end result was a Allied Victory. -

The establishment of Western Allies forces in France during opertaion Overlord. It was the attempt to free France from German control and was a huge step and victory for the Allies in the war. -
