    Battle of Britain
    It all began when Britain and the United States made the destroyer deal back in September 1940. Yet Britain couldn’t afford the financial expenses to pay for the weapons they needed from US. In the fear of another debt. Roosevelt made an plan called the Lend-Lease. Eventually it became an act where they borrowed it then lent it back when they were done. Even though they fended off air crafts from Germany. They did not fend off the bombings which lasted until June 1941.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    Operation Barbarossa
    Once Hitler finished off his bomb attack on Britain he immediately broke the German-Soviet non-aggression pact in June 22, 1941. Germany had invaded the Soviet Union. They had hoped to break Russia before winter. Due to the large country the Soviets were determined to stop the act of fascism. They split up the German army into three groups at Moscow, Stalingrad, and Leningrad. Germany was unable to break Russia before winter came. The Soviets broke them instead making Germany retreat.

    There were mini victories against Germany in 1942. In 1943 Roosevelt and Churchill had a meeting to plan an attack against the Axis powers. Roosevelt announced to the Allied powers of the plan. They were planning to bomb Germany around the clock. Though sadly in middle of the action. German technology allowed the fighters to shoot down the bombers. After the failed mission, Stalin demanded an invasion on France. (Soviets won to Germany recently) It was set to 1944 the invasion.
  • Operation Overlord D-Day

    Operation Overlord D-Day
    In France on June 6, 1944. The invasion had began in Normandy. Invaders established a beachhead after a first successful day of invasion “D-Day”. Allied powers along with other countries prepared themselves in three groups at different times. Sadly they failed to reach their goals that day. There an failed counter attack by the Germans on August 8 which caused solides being trapped in Falaise. Another invasion was made in France along with Germans retreating on August 30, 1944.
  • Yalta Conference

    Yalta Conference
    This conference was held from the 4th to the 11th of February in 1945. The meeting’s purpose was to comprise with the heads of United States, United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union. It was intended to discuss the re-establishment of the nations of war-torn Europe within a few years. The Yalta conference was a crucial turning point in the Cold War. (Was the second of three wartime conferences).
