    Paris Peace Conference
    After the First World War was over, four countries came out victorious, which were Britain, France, the U.S.A, and Italy. They arranged to create a treaty (The Treaty of Versailles) so that history would not repeat itself. It included terms such as "War guilt", "Reperations", "Restricted Armed Forces", "Loss of Territories" and "League of Nations". Unfortunately, the strictness of the terms sparked outrage in the German's, causing a strong national grude.

    Hitler Rises To Power
    In 1933, Hitler ascended to the position of chancellor of the National Socialist German Worker Party (better known as the Nazi party). This followed Hitler's political successes, which caused the smaller parties to turn to the Nazi's to evade communist rule.
  • Night Of The Broken Glass

    Night Of The Broken Glass
    On this night in 1938, there was a breakout of violence against Jews after the assassination of a German official by a Jewish boy. The police force stood idly by while angry Germans ransacked Jewish homes, businesses and Synogages, also killing many in the process. They called it the Night of Broken Glass because of all the shattered storefront glass littering the streets.
  • Germany Attacks Poland

    Germany Attacks Poland
    Germany attacked Polands borders, which caused Britain (including their whole empire) and France to declare war on Germany. They had agreed to do so if Germany did in fact try to invade the country, as they grimly predicted.
  • Pearl Harbour

    Pearl Harbour
    The bombing of Pearl Harbour was a military attack from the Japanese on a U.S naval base. It was attacked by 353 Japanese fighter planes. 2403 Americans were tragically killed. This event outraged the Americans, who then entered the war.
  • Kokoda Track Campaign

    Kokoda Track Campaign
    Japanese forces attempted to storm through the Owen Stanley Range to take Port Moesby as part of a strategy to isolate Australia from the U.S. The Australians were able to fend off most attacks, but were forced to withdraw down the Kokoda track on August 14.
  • Hitler Suicides

    Hitler Suicides
    On the 30th of April in 1945, Hitler, along with his wife Eva Braun, suicided. He didn't want to face punishment for what he did, as he still did not see it as wrong. They both took cyanide to do so, but Hitler also shot himself with a pistol.
  • Nagasaki and Hiroshima Bombings

    Nagasaki and Hiroshima Bombings
    In 1945, Japan, although its allies had already been defeated, refused to give up the fight. The U.S dropped atomic bombs, named "Little Boy" and "Fat Man", on the two cities of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The damage that it created is still seen as one of the most devestating bombings in history. Nine days after the attacks, Japan announced its surrender.
