    Hitler became dictator of Germany. He was angry about the outcome of WW1 and placed all of the blame on traitors that he believed were mainly Jews. He wanted a pure race and was determined to get it.

    After the Bataan Death March, the allies attacked Tokyo during the Doolittle Raid. Because of the outcome, even though there was not much physical damage done, Japan became a little more humble about the fact that they were susceptible to attacks. In turn America was given a big morale booster.

    This 4 day battle was the first air-sea battle ever seen. This was a very significant battle because the allies stopped Japans advances.

    Theodore Roosevelt created Executive order 9066 that issues the relocation of all people with Japanese ancestry in them. They were moved to the west side of the country into concentration camps until 1945.

    The Battle of Stalingrad marked the end of Germany's advances into eastern Europe and Russia. This battle was the first major German loss. After Stalingrad, the Germans didn't advance any farther into eastern Europe or Russia.

    Three days after America dropped a bomb on Hiroshima, they dropped another one on Nagasaki. This bomb was called "fat boy" and killed about 40,000 people.

    The Battle of Berlin was the last battle that occurred before V-E Day. About 81,000 Soviet Union and 92,000 German soldiers were killed in the 4 days it took the for the fighting to end.

    The Manhattan Project was a research and development project produced during World War II that created the first nuclear weapons. Many German scientists that fled to America were apart of creating these weapons.

    The Yalta conference helped lead to the cold war because it gave the Soviet Union the right to control Eastern Europe. The Cold War wasn't exactly a war with violence, it was a war of ideas that lasted about 45 years.
