    Start of WWII
Blitzkrieg was the start of WWII. The reason it is called blitzkrieg is because blitzkrieg means lighting war in German. In this event the Germans came into Poland and invaded without stopping, which was the quickest type of war. When the Nazis (the Nazis were a group started by Adolf Hitler the dictator of Germany.) invaded Poland they considered this the start of the war because Germany was becoming a threat and attacking countries.

    End of World War II
Germany surrendered because they knew that they where loosing. They were loosing because Japan (with the Axis powers or on the side of Germany) was being attacked by America, France was being taken back and saved by the British after the Germans took over, and Germany was being attacked by Russia after Germany had broken their pact with them by invading them in Poland. The Germans were basically surrounded and were forced to give up.
