Germans decided to invade Great Britain because they wanted to take over Britain. In the end, the British won and this was the first time that Germany lost. -

The Germans decided to attack Poland and the Soviet Union sent troops to fight the Germans. Then the UK and France declared war on the Germans. The reason for this was that the Germans wanted to take over all of Europe. But the Germans failed to take over Moscow. -
Pearl Harbor
On Sunday, at 7:55 am on the island of Oaho in Hawaii, the Japanese naval pilots bombed the US port of Pearl Harbor. Two waves of Japanese planes attacked from the east and west. The reason for the bombing was the Japanese wanted to take out the majority of the US navy becuse US had stopped any natural resorces from being traded ffrom the US to Japan and US froze all the Japanese bank accounts in the US. US then declares war on the Japanese and enters WWII -
Bataan Death March
What happended was that the American and the Philipino men marched from the tip od Bataan, Mariveles, to San Fernando. a 70 mile trek. The reason why was because the American and the Philipino men gave uo fighting the Japanese and the Japanese made them march. In the end, Lots of men from the American and the Philipino army died. -
Operation Overlord AKA "Battle of Normandy"
The allied forces attcked the shores of Normandy. The reason for the attack was because the allied forces wanted to the war. It eventually ended the war in Europe. -
Battle of the Bulge
Germans attacked the American lines. This happened in Belgium. The reason for this Germans wanted to eliminate American forces except in the end the Germans lost. -

Yalta Conference
The US, UK, Soviet Union, FDR, Winston Churchill and Joseph Staltin were at the conference. They discussed how to take care of the nation conquered by Germany. This conference was in the ancient city of Yalta in Southern Ukriane. They dicussed what they were going to do with everything that happended in the war. In the end, they created the United Nations, they destroyed fascism and they created the Atlantic Charter (you choose your own method of government). -
Battle of Iwo Jima
The US army fought and captured the two island of Iwo Jima. The reason for this battle was the US wanted to end the war in Japan by capturing an airbase. In the end, there were 21,844 people died that were part of the Japan army. -
V-E Day
The Allies finally defeated West Germany and the war in Europe ended. The reason for the war was to end the war in Europe. In the end Adolf Hitler and the Nazi army formally surrendered. -

The US bombed the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. The reason why they did this is that the US wanted to end the war between them and Japan. After, Japan surrendered to the Allies. -
V-J Day
The Japanese offically surrendered to the Allied forces on the USS Missouri. The US wanted the war to officially end with Japan. World War 2 then officially ended.
