  • Battle of Britain

    from July to September 1940. In the Battle of Britain the Germans attempted to gain superioty over the RAF by fighting in the skies with planes or bombing eachother. it happened in the sky over Britain or on Britain's mainland. this event occured because after the Battle of France and the French surrendered, Hitler turned his attention to Britain. The outcome of the Battle of Britain was that Hilter postponed the invasion in Septemberand his attention moved to thr invasion of the Soviet Union.
  • Operation Barbossa

    Operation Barbossa was Hitler’s code-name fro the attack on the Soviet Union. Millions of German soldiers invaded Russia. The main people and countries that were involved were Hitler, Germany, and Russia. The attack was on Blitzkrieg, Russia. This happened because Hitler had his eye on many of the Soviet Union’s resources and he thought should attack to get these resources. The overall outcome of this event was that Russia joined the Allies.
  • Pearl Harbor

    The day that Japan naval pilots bombed Pearl Harbor in the USA. Two waves of Japanese planes attacked from the east and west. The exact place Japan bombed was Oahu, Hawaii in the USA. Japan did this because they wanted to take out the majority of the United States’ Navy, because the US had stopped any natural resources from being traded with Japan and the US froze all the Japanese finances in the US banks. The outcome of this event as that the US declared war on Japan and entered world war two.
  • Bataan Death March

    On April 9th 1942 the bataan Death March began. The countries that were involved were USA, Japan, and the Philipines. This was the forcible trasfer by the Imperial Japanese Army after a three month battle in the Philipines. The japenese Army was taking all the Filipino's to a camp and to get there the prisoners had to walk. It was a deathly walk and hundreds died even beofre reaching the camp. the outcome was that the Japenese got away with it but after the war it was called a crime.
  • Operation Overlord

    Operation overlord was the code for battle of Normandy. This was when the Allies attacked the beaches of Normandy. The attack was in two phases, airborne assault and free French airborne troops. The Allies did this because the wanted to get control of Germany and they knew that France was allies with Germany. So to take Germany over they first needed to take France over. The overall outcome of the event was the liberation of Paris and an Allied stronghold in Europe.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    In the Battle of the Bulge the countries that were involved were Germany and France because Germany offensive launched through densly forested regions in France. the regions where the battle was being fought was in Ardennes, Wallonia in Belgium, Luxembourg, and the western front. The battle started because Germany was trying to split the British and the US Allies to negotiate a peace treaty in the Axis power. The outcome was many people died and Germany lost many resources.
  • Yalta Conference

    from February 4th the the 11th a meeting occured were the Soviet Union, USA, and the United Kingdom all met to discuss Europe's post-war reorganization. The key people who were also involved were Presodent Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston. The meetingwas at the Livadia Palace. the meeting happended because the wanted to talk about the re-establishment of the nations. The outcome was that the Untied Nations started by President Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    The battle of Iwo Jima was the major battle in which the U.S. armed forces fought for and captured the island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese empire. This happened in Iwo Jima an island in the Pacific Ocean. The battle happened because the U.S. wanted to slowly get into Japan’s mainland to make Japan surrender. Unfortunately the outcome was not what the U.S. wanted in the instead no one surrendered and many people on the island died.
  • V-E Day

    On this day the Allies formally accepted unconditional surrender of the armed forces, thus ending war in Europe. The countries and people that were involved were Germany, the Western Allies and Hitler because this ended his war. Germany surrendered because they felt that Britain was catching up to them and both of their main leaders Mussolini and Hitler both died. The outcome and significance in history of this event was that the war in Europe was finally over and it ended World War II.
  • Dropping of the Atomic Bomb

    on August 6th 1945, the US bombed Haroshima and Nagasaki in Japan. they did this because Japan a couple months before bombed the US. The US also wanted Japan to surrender. The outcome of the event was that thousands of people in Japan died from the raidiation and later Japan surrendered.
  • V-J day

    on August 14th Japan officially surendered prior to the dropping of the Atomic bomb. Japan surrendered because they were afreai of the US after they bombed Japan. the outcome of the event was that World War two was over for the US and Japan and the US "won".
