    German word used for lighting war. This was a military used to cause conflict and disorganzie the enemy. This military tatic is very use for for short battles which saves lives and limits the amount of deaths and limits the use of atrillery.The first time Germany used this tatic was in 1939 in Poland, before using it in successfully using it in invasions, such as Belgium, the Netherlands, and France in 1940.

    Where the Germans killed 2 out of every 3 Jews as part of a final solution. Before they had came into Germany and made this Nazi Germany terriorty there had been over nine million jews. Many of these people were murdered, died of starvation, disesase, neglect, or maltreatment, The Germans punsihed all of the non-Jews for killing and deporting millions of jews because of forced labor. towards the end of the war guards made prisoners go on 'death marches".

    Japan Invades China

    military war, fought between china and Japan. China fought Japan with some help from Germany, the Soviet Union, and the United States. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, China officialy became apart of the Allies and declared war on Japan and other Axis powers.
  • Munich Conference

    A conference held in Munich where Great Britain, Francde and Italy all agreed to let Germany annex parts of Czechoslovakia. This agree ment was made Sepetember 30 1938 officialy. But the conference was held September 29, 1938.Czehslovakia was not invited to participate in the conferenece which made Czech. feel betrayed by the United Kingdom and France. Because they had felt this wasy they called the conference the 'Munich Dictate'

    A pact where 2 countries agreed by signing they wouldnt engaged in fighting battles against each other. This was used as an International aggreement which was broken right before the second world war. One place where this was used was between Soviet Union and Nazi Germany which lasted until the 1941 German invasion of the Soviet Union.

    Germany invades Poland

    Where German forces brought in 1.5 million troops to invade Poland to have German controlled territory. This is where Hitler claimed a defensive action, but Britain and France were not completely convinced. This is when World War 2 was declared. This was where German expansion offically started when they annex Austria, Sudtenland and all of Csech. To stop all of this the hope of USSR would come to Germanys aid. SO Germany signed a nonagression pact between SOviet Union on 1939.

    Turning point of World War II, ended when Germany's Luftwaffe failed to gain more time over the AIr force. After Months of trargeting Britain's air bases, military post, and its civilian population. Britains victory saved the country from a ground invasion.
  • Lend- Lease Act

    Provided U.S. military aid to foreign nations during World War II. The act pursued the president to give arms or any other materials for defensive actions. The Lend-lease brought the United States one step closer to entry into the war. A repuublican senator opposed it. Noted that the Bill would give the President power to carry on a undeclared war all over the world.

    Name for Nazi Germany invasion of the Soviet Union during WW II. As time went on about four million soliders invaded Russia, making it the largest invasion in history of warfare. Before this invasion the non-agresssion pact was signed and then broken when this invasion took place. After this operation failed, this led to more of Hitlers demands in the USSR which later also failed. This operation was the military operation in world history and largest number of man power and casualities.

    Brought the united states to world war II. Japan attacked American terriory, something that Americans never believed would ever happen. Planes attacked Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, HI. The attack lasted two hours and it was extremely devasting. Japan destroy nearly 20 American naval vessels. Including eight enormous battleships, and almost 200 airplanes. atleast 2,000 American soliders did in this attack and 1,000 were wounded. This officialy brought the United States to World War II.
  • Bataan Death March

    75,000 Filipino and American troops were forced to march 65- miles to prision camps. The marchers were forced to march in intense heat and terrible conditions. All of the men were divided into groups of 100 to march65 miles took each group atleast 5 days. The number of troops that died are unknown, but thousands of troops died because of the neglect by the captors during the march over the 5 days.

    Took place 6 months after Pearl Harbor, the US defeated Japan in a naval battles of World War II. The unuited states was able to attack Japans remaing aircraft, causing permanent damage on the Japanese Navy. Turning point in the Pacifc armys. This victory allowed the Allies to go into offensive position.

    Successful Soviet battle of the city of Stalingrad in the USSR during WWII. Russians consider this to be the biggest battle of their war many people believe top be the biggest battle of the entire conflict. Turning of the tide of wwar in favor of the Allies. One of the bloodiest battles in history more than 2 million people died.

    156,00 American, British, and Candian military men landed on 5 beaches, which would be a 50 mile stretch. Before this huge battle the Alies made a plan to mislead the Germans, about the invasion target. By the spring of this year the allies had defeated more than half of the aGerman army.

    German soilders led this battle in Belgium, France, and Luxemburg on the Western front toward the end of world war II. This was an unexpected attack that got the aliied forces off guard. This battle had the highest casualites for the United States. This battle was planned in secrey, hint the suprise attack. The Germans, took advantage of overcast weather conditions which gave them the a bigger advantage at launching the suprise attack.

    An island near Japan, 3 US marine ships landed on an island where over 23,000 soliders were waiting for battle. The United States and Japan fought against one another through awful conditons, taking over a month the American forces defeated the Japanese. The US lost over 5,000 soliders and nearly 17,000 were wounded.

    Last battle near the islands of Japan. This battle invovled nearly 300,000 trrops. During this battle the Japanese used air attacks to bomb the US troops during the fight. At the end of this battle nearly 65,000+ people were killed

    Great Britain and the United States celebrate victory in Europe Day. Cities in both nations put out flags and banners rejoicing in the defeat of the Nazi's. The 8 of may spelled the day when German troops surrendered in Europe. Germans surrendered to their Soviet army. after they had lost more than 8,000 men.
  • The Bombing of Hiroshima/ Nagasaki

    American bomber dropped the world's first deployed atomic bomb over Hiroshima. The bombing wiped out more than 90% of Hiroshima city immeditatly killing over 80K people. More than 10,00 more people later died or were in the process of dying due to radiation exposure.3 days after another American bomber dropped another bomb on Nagasaki, killing over 40,000 people. Japans emperor Hirohito than made an surrender on radio saying devasted power "a new and cruel bomb"
