Leonard G. Abbett was born on 1/5/1896. In Brighton, Arapahoe, Colorado, United States. His mom and dad were beyond lucky to have him in their lives. He was the oldest out of 8 kids. He didn't expect to go into the Military as a kid.

U.S. Senate refuses to ratify the Treaty of Versailles, thus preventing the country from joining the League of Nations. In 1920, the Treaty war officially ended. Turkey gained independence from the British.

After seven days of artillery bombardment, Allied troops launched an operation to take down the German forces. They suffered 50,000 casualties on the first day of fighting and then continued. After Germany resumes its campaign of unrestricted submarine warfare, the U.S. severs diplomatic relations with Germany. British intelligence intercepts the Zimmermann Telegram.

Leonard G. Abbett Joined the Military in 1917. His branch of choice was the Army. He felt a sense of duty. He was hesitant about it at first, but finally took it and went with it.

On May 7th, 1917, Germany's submarine sank. The passenger liner Lusitania during crossing from New York to Liverpool, England. Led to the killing of 128 Americans. Right after that May 23, 1915, Italy declared war on Austria-Hungary.

Allied and German representatives signed the Treaty of Versailles. The United States signed it. The United States Senate fails to ratify the Treaty of Versailles. On Jan 10th, 1920 it was taken in affect.

Leonard died on May 11th, 1991. We do not know why he died. I think he died from old age, most likely. He lived a really good life despite being part of WWI.
