    Women had been voting in the state since 1787.
  • Watson v. Bailey

    The Pennsylvania Supreme Court, in Watson v. Bailey, strengthens the property rights of women by declaring a deed invalid because the wife had not been privately examined by a judge to ensure that she had not been coerced into signing it by her husband.
