Armistice acceptance
Ebert agreed on the armistice ,as they were losing the war, on the terms of President Wilson's 14 points which ensured peace. -
Weimar republic set up
A coalition government was formed, no one party having the most seats, there was a revote in Jan 1919. Ebert was officially voted as president. Many civilians were against the Weimar republic as they signed the armistice and the German population were fed lots of propaganda making them think they were winning the war.
