Colonial Settlement
The colonial settlement was the starting point of the new world. It was the first signs of development on land besides the Native Americans and was the foundation for the growth of the colonies. Without these colonists, we might not have had the US that we know today.

Slavery In New World
Slavery in the new world had a really big impact in colony’s. Colonists would get slaves from Africa and ship them on ships and is them to do labor. Although it was very harsh for the slaves it made the colony’s thrive faster and be more productive. The slaves were the ones that built most of everything which is why the US developed fast.

The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was one of the major events that would mark a turning point in the American Revolution. One day, a ship full of tea from Britain reached the Boston harbor but was burned by the colonists and threw the tea in the ship. Britain lost tons of money. They did this due to high taxation from Britain for Tea and other goods. This was the first spark of the revolution and the first action that the colonists took against Britain.

Declaration Of Independence
The Declaration Of Independence would officially mark the independence of the 13 colony’s. It was the birth of America and the sign that they had beaten Britain. All the battles and hardships officially led to the freedom and rights for the US. This document helped us kickstart the rapid development of the country we know today as the United States Of America.

Federalism is a true of government system where there are 2 levels of government. One government has more power over the other. George Washington was the first ever president of the United States and had great impact for the country. He helped lead the US to victory during the Revolutionary War and had great power over the government. Nationalism
Nationalism is the idea of supporting one county over all other countries and believe that they are the most superior. Nationalists try to spread their country’s beliefs and culture through propaganda or other things to try to gain as much support as possible. Thomas Jefferson

Indian Removal Act
Indian Removal Act was an act signed by Andrew Jackson that would remove Indians from their own land in order for the US to gain more territory. Civil War
The Civil War was a war between the North and South sides of the US. This war was known as the most bloodiest and violent war in US history. The North was known as the Union and the South was known as the Confederates. The Union were opposed to slavery and the Confederates were not and wanted to keep slavery. The Union won and they were able to end slavery.

Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was a former US president and he is known as on of the greatest and most influential figures. He supported ending slavery and was the president during the Civil War. He was part of the Union and helped lead them win. He banned slavery but unfortunately he was assassinated.

Abolitionism
Abolitionism was a movement to end and ban slavery. They would protest or rally to try to sway the government into banning slavery. Many famous people such as Frederick Douglass and John Brown were leaders of this. Most abolitionists came from the North and not as much from the South. Andrew Johnson
Andrew Johnson was the 17th president of the United States. He was the successor of Abraham Lincoln after he was assassinated. He did some questionable things such as freeing 7000 confederates which eventually led to his impeachment and removal. Reconstruction
When the government abolished slavery the 13-15th amendments were passed which granted black people many rights that were not given before. The reconstruction created anger between white people especially in the south because they still believed that black people belong as slaves. Frederick Douglass
Frederick Douglass was an African American writer and abolitionist. He became a leader for the abolitionist movements in Massachusetts and New York. He helped influence anti slavery and wrote books about it.
