The Declaration of Independence is signed and the United States pretty much just breaks off from Britain and becomes their own country. Although the Declaration was signed on August 2nd it wasn’t officially adopted until July 4th. After the Declaration was signed America was now own it’s own and now the founding fathers had to figure out how to run this brand new country.

The Winter at Valley Forge was a very hard time of hardships during the American Revolutionary War. The armies faced very harsh conditions and severe lack of food, clothing, and shelter. Amongst all of the other horrible conditions diseases were spreading rapidly amongst the armies.

The Battles of Lexington and Concord were the first battles that marked the beginnings of conflict between Great Britain and the 13 colonies. Great Britain was trying to seize some resources but the colonists fought back and didn’t let the have it. The fighting back against Britain is what caused the fighting as Lexington and Concord.

These articles helped America greatly by giving the Founding Fathers a base form of government in which they went back to and fixed. Presidential Inauguration of George Washington took place in New York which was the Nation’s capital at the time. George Washington became America’s first ever president and was now even more important to America’s success than he was before. George Washington helped set in place many laws that the future presidents had to abide by and still abide by.

Washington’s Farewell Address is a very important document that George had written when he gave up presidency. He gave the people of America a couple warnings in hope they would listen but sadly they ended up not listening. One of his main warnings was the formation of political parties as he thought they would only divide America.

George Washington was a huge role in America’s gaining of freedom. He was a war general who won one of the most important battles in the war by crossing the Delaware river and he was also the first president. He died of a throat infection and was buried four days later.
