Between one to seven millions Native Americans lived spread out on the continent. They had their own traditions and culture. Europan settlers came into conflict with the Native Americans over the right to land. They were also responsible for the deaths of enormous numbers and disease. They depended on their skills and knwledge. The Lewis and Clark expedition was led by two man to find a route into new territory. Sacagawea assisted in the expedition.
