In 1882, Congress voted to pass the Chinese Exclusion Act that banned the Chinese ethnic group entirely. This was done in attempt to please Racial Purists and Nativist's growing demand to restrict immigration.

The United States won the Spanish-American in 1898. This led the U.S. to gain control of the former Spanish territories, including Cuba and the Philippines.

The United States started to rapidly try to gain territory. They continued to push Native Americans out of the West frontier by brute force. With more emerging groups such as Nationalists, Industrialists, and Social Darwinists wanting more territory, the U.S. started pushing for overseas land. Most area in the U.S. was won by fighting wars, or taking land from Native Americans.

With a dramatic start with the archduke of Austria-Hungary publicly murdered, World War 1 was the first war in which every country took part in. While the United States tried to stay neutral, they eventually joined as Germany attacked Americans at sea.https://www.ushistory.org/us/45.asp

The League of Nations was the first worldwide intergovernal organization that was created under the idea to try and maintain world peace. It was founded following the Paris Peace Conference that ended World War 1. The general idea of the league was to settle disputes through negotiation and arbitration. While President Wilson tried to join the league, the United States senate ultimately decided against it.

Following the catastrophic stock market crash in 1929, the United States entered peak poverty in the Great Depression. Many were faced without jobs, struggling to put food on the table for their families. President Hoover lost any popularity as the economy shrank each year, eventually leading to Franklin D. Japan provoked the United States into war with an attack on the naval bases of Pearl Harbor. The United States had wanted to remain aloof but this was impossible after this devastating attack.

On May 17, 1954, the Supreme Court ruled that the segregation of schools was unconstitutional. Schools were to become integrated between races.

The World Wide Web was developed in the early 1990s, following the creation of the general internet in the 1970s. The United States had a very good economy and a quickly developing internet, making other countries want to catch up to what they had.
