  • The Munich Pact

    On September 29th 1938, Italy, Germany, France, and Britain signed an agreement to appease Germany's Leader Adolf Hitler as he was demanding for Germany to be able to annex Czechoslavakia of the german speaking areas, also known as the Sudetenland. This was the only land he was allowed to have though. Later he broke this agreement by invading Poland.
  • World War II Begins

    On September 1st 1939, Germany invaded poland which sparked the start of a second world war as Britain and France declared war on Germany 2 days later. This was not any surprise as many people knew WWII was bound to happen due to unresolved issues from World War I between many countries, and the chaos that was taking place in Germany. Where Adolf Hitler had rose to complete control of Germany and had plans to expand his country and take control of other european countries.
  • The Battle Of Britain Starts

    On July 10th 1940 Germany launched an air attack that was a massive attempt to force Britain to surrender and to gain air superiority over Britain's royal air force. It was a battle that last from july 10th to October 31st 1940. In the end it was a huge win for Britian as they fought off the German air force and was very important at the time because it showed Hitler was not undefeatable. If Germany had one other important events like D-Day would not have happend.
  • The Attack on Pearl Harbor

    On the morning of December 7th 1941, hundreds of Japanese planes flew from Japan to the U,S naval base in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. No one had a clue as the Japanese navy executed a surprise attack with the goal of taking out and preventing the U.S pacific fleet to be able to interefere with Japan's military plans. This resulted in all 8 naval ships being heavily damaged and 4 being sunk with over 2000 people dead. This immediately led to the U.S joining the war
  • The Battle of Midway

    On June 4th 1942, A naval battle began that lasted 3 days. It is known as the most important naval battle of WWII, Japan's motive was too take over Midway Atoll and eliminate U.S naval fleets that would interfere with their plans and to lead the U.S aircraft carriers into a trap but resulted in a decisive United States victory and they succsessfully defended midway atoll. Which was a jump site that the U.S used to travel along the pacific.
  • The Battle Of Stalingrad Begins

    On August 23rd 1942, The Battle of Stalingrad began which was a major battle of WWII which Germany and the axis powers fought the Soviet Union for the the control of the city Stalingrad. It was one of the bloodiest battles of the history of warfare as it only lasted from from August 23rd 1942 to February 2nd 1943 but it is estimated the causalties to be around 2 million people. This battle is considered the most major turning point of the war as the German military suffered heavy losses
  • D-Day (Operation Overlord)

    On June 6th 1944, was D-Day, the day that an air assault and storming of beaches by allied troops had finally come in one goal to hit the German army from front and behind to break the atlantic wall of german troops along the french coast. The operation lasted from June 6th to August 1944 and resulted in the breaking of germany's atlantic wall, and broke the strong hold they had on France. They forced them to retreat and also created a two front war for Germany, in France and Russia.
  • The Battle Of The Bulge

    The Battle of The Bulge was the last German Offense of WWII and lasted form December 16th 1944 to January 25th 1945. It was fought in mostly forrested areas of Belgium and France. It was the bloodiest battle fought in World War II as it is estimated there was over 150,000 casualties. This battle resulted in German forces to be completely depleted and there control was lost in France. Most retreated to the Siegfried Line, which was a line of forts and tank defenses that built in northern France
  • The Death Of Hitler

    On April 30th 1945 when the capital of Germany, Berlin, had been overrun by soviets, Adolf Hitler only saw one way out. With Russian forces close he had lunch with his new wife, Eva Brun early that morning and then when the two were alone together Hitler shot himself with his pistol and Eva killed herself by swallowing a cyanide capsule. This was a turning point because as Germany was already losing all control, the death of their leader made it inevitable that the war was now coming to a close.
  • Peace at Last

    With All of Germany Surrendering with either German military leaders either surrendering or committing suicide, World War II conflict ended by the end of 1945 with Japan surrendering but the war didn't officially end until the Peace Treaty was signed with Japan in 1951. The end of the war resulted in the United Nations being created to prevent future conflict and the Soviet Union and U.S rising as supreme world powers. Which later led to the Cold War, that lasted 46 years between Russia and U.S
