Fashion in the 1960s

1960

In the 1960s, women wore a dress called a 'Flapper Dress'. Flapper dresses were very thin back then. Years later in 2024, the dresses are shorter, has thicker material, and not much of a boxy feel like it used to back in 1960s.

Fashion in the 1970s

1970

In the 1970s, many women would wear house dresses. The materials used were called 'Nylon' and 'Polyester'. The designs were very colorful and bright. In 2024, house dresses are more simple looking. People now use velvet and silk to make house dresses.

Fashion in the 1980s

1980

In the 1980s, women wore dresses called 'Polka dot dresses'. The dresses had big pops of color and many designs. In 2024, the polka dot dresses have bland colors like black, white and beige.

Fashion in the 1990s

1990

In the 1990s, women wore baby doll dresses. Baby doll dresses had, glitter and pastel colors on them like blue, yellow and pink. They also were kind of thin. In 2024, only the material had developed a long with the thickness.

Fashion in the 2000s

2000

In the year 2000, women wore sweater dresses. Sweater dresses were made with wool, cotton and synthetic fibers. In 2024, the dresses remain the same except for the length and designs.

Fashion in the year 2010

2010

In 2010, women wore jumpsuits that had such pretty glitter or iridescent materials. Most of the materials were thin. In 2024, jumpsuits have harder materials that tend to take away some of the flare in the sleeves and legs.
