    Before the first television people would see whatever play that was on Broadway was a popular place to see plays as it was in one of the busiest city's New York.

    The first TV was made by Philo Taylor Farnworth, in San Francisco September 7th 1927. It used electronic signals to produce images. It was in productions for years before it actually was available.

    1920's

    "The Queen's Messenger was the first show ever aired. It was produced by a company in Schenectady, New York called WGY.
  • 1930's

    1930's

    In 1939 the first major commercial aired at New York World's fair, making more people want to buy them. Also making it more mainstream.

    1940's

    In 1948 the first cable TV was aired in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania by John Walson providing signal to people that lived in the Tall Mountains.

    1950's

    The first rote control was made called Lazy Bones. It connected to it with a wire made by Zenith Radio Corporation. 5 years later the Wireless remote control was made by Eugene Polly called Flash-Matic.

    TV started getting color. RCA devised the first complete electronic color system and then U.S Federal Communications Commission as the standard for all TVs.

    TV started becoming more popular in people's homes. The rate of people having TV was hiked up by 90 percent.

    In 1986 the first VHS player was made. It was created by JVC.

    November 8th 1993 closed captioning was aired on TV. It was made accessible to deaf and hard of hearing people.

    Flat screens started to replace regular old box television. High definition was set as the new standard and even though most couldn't buy it everyone wanted one.

    Technology advanced allowing more drama and better story telling in shows.

    After COVID happened TV sky rocked because nobody really had anything else to do. The new advancing of technology made it more common for people to have TVs in their home's.
