  • Sopwith Pup

    Sopwith Pup
    The Sopwith pup was invented by Herbert Smith and was flown first by Harry Hawker.
    - It was the first british single seated fighter plane which decreased in weight
    - It had a top speed of 180 km/h and a rotary engine and a fuel tank which could let it fly for 309 km without refueling!
    - It had a single vicker gun which was syncronised with the propellor to stop it from shooting itself

    - It was tail heavy making it very sensitive which could make it harder for the enemies to shoot it down
    - Had 4 Bombs which the pilot could throw out of the cockpit
    - It had a piece of aliminum at the front of the plane to make it lighter.
    - It could reach a top speed of 185km/h and also had a rotary engine but had instead two vicker guns.
