    Thomas Kuhn was one of the many influential philosophers of the 20th century. Thomas Kuhn spent many of his years studying and dedicating his life to science and philosophy. He earned his bachelor's degree in 1943 and shortly after he earned his master's degree in 1946. Shortly after he obtained his Ph.D. in 1949, he would begin teaching the philosophy of science.

    From 1951 until 1956 Thomas Kuhn taught philosophy of science at Harvard University. He then continued to teach at Berkeley in California from 1956 until 1964. from then on, he would teach at two more institutions- Princeton University and Massachusetts Institution of Technology.

    Thomas Kuhn published his first book in 1957. The book is known as, "The Copernican Revolution". In this book Kuhn discussed his understanding of the Universe and how it was centered around earth (geocentric) and heliocentric understanding of the Sun. His inspiration was a Polish Astronomer from the 16th Century.

    Thomas Kuhn published his second book in 1962. In the book, "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions" Kuhn discusses his observations of science. He states that science did not always advance in the commonly thought of steady and gradual but pointed out that science begins with observations collected at random.

    Thomas Kuhn retired from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1991 at the age of 69. Kuhn is mostly known for introducing the paradigm shift into science culture and vocabulary. Kuhn studied many different philosophers before him to get a further understanding of science and philosophy. Thomas Kuhn died in 1996 after a 2-year battle with throat and lung cancer.
