    Evacuation of Dunkirk

France and Britian felt trapped by Germany and they were getting tired of the Phony War. So when German troops started to approach, the English Navy and any boat that was still standing was used to evacuate 340,000 troops who lived to fight another day. This was a moral victory for the Allies, and it saved the best of the British troops. By letting the troops go, Hitler made a major mistake.
  • Fall of France

    Fall of France
The blitzkreig was too effective for the French troops to defeat when the Germans attacked. Soon after France surrendered to Germany. With the Germans in control, the French forces were de-mobilized, the country was split in two and all major ports were controlled by the German goverment. This achievement proved that the German tactics were successful and made sure that France was unable to defend itself.

The Battle of Britian was when German Lutwaffes bombed important parts of Britian such as army bases etc. But soon after the Royal Air Force came into the air. This showed that Hitler could be stopped amd the stalled invasion set Hitler's plans back.

Hitler sends troops to invade the Soviet Union, therefore breaking their alliance. Hitler believed that the 'inferior' people of the East had to make way for the 'superior' people. Anything that Hitler wanted, he did not achieve, and the Red Army was devastated.

The Suez Canal was a strategic strip of water and the Allied and Axis forces wanted it. In the end of the Battle of El Alamein, the Allied forces defeated the Axis forces so the Suez Canal stayed in Allies hands. Hitler was once again denied access to the oil fields of the Middle East.
