He was one of the leading figures of early American history. He was a statesman, author, publisher, scientist, inventor and diplomat. He was also one of America's Enlightenment thinkers. -

He was considered a "hero" of the Revolutionary War. The he became a traitor after he switched to the British's side. He thought he wasn't getting the fame he deserved so he agreed to turn in the U.S. for money. -

This wear went of for eighteen days which caused a turning point in the American Revolution. The Americans had damaged Britain army so much that Britain had to retreat and take a loss. The Americans had shown the French that they should help the Americans and join the war as allies. -
