  • The Proclomation of 1763

    After winnig the wars between the French and Indian wars, Great Britain controlled a vast territory in North America. To limit settelment of this territory, Britain issued the Proclamtion of 1763
  • The stamp act protests

    A young member of the Virginia House of Burgesses, Patrick Henry, persuaded the burgesses to take action against the Stamp Act.
  • The Boston Massacre

    the tension between the colonists and the redcoats reached a peak, or high point, and the colonists started attacking with anything that they could find. then in confusion the redcoats killed five colonists and it was then called the boston massacre
  • The Boston Tea Party

    On the night of the 16 of December, 1773 Samual Adams and the sons of liberty dressed up like an indian tribe known as mohawks and went onto ships carrying tea and threw over about 342 crates of tea.
  • Parlement passes the Intolerable Acts

    the news of the boston tea party spread like wild fire and soon got to king george III and he said that they must control the colonists more or just leave them alone all together so then the king and parliment made the Coercive act
  • First Continental Congress Meets

    55 men went to philidelphia from all colonies and they came so that they represnet American colonies and threaten or challenge British control
  • Battles fought at Lexington and Concord

    In the battle of lexington the redcoats had reached the center of the town only to find that about 70 minutemen were alerted by Paul Rever and Dawes. they let loose bullets and at the end only 8 minuetmen died. At concord the redcoats destroyed their gunpowder supplies but when they got to the bridge at concord the minuetmen were waiting for them.
  • Ethan Allen captures Fort Ticonderoga

    Benedict Arnold of Massachusetts came to help Ethan Allen at Green Mountain Boys Vermont at dawn to launch an all out attack on Fort Ticonderoga. Even though it was a small conflict, it was the first American victory of the Revolutionary war
  • Battle of Bunker Hill was fought

    the british set up forces at the bottom of Breeds Hill. they charged up and the Americans let fire and they did this two or three times. finally the Americans ran out of gunpowder and ammo so they had to retriet. The british won that battle but suffered heavily with tons of casualties.
  • the Declaration of independence was signed

    the declaration of independence has four major parts in it. there is the preamble, which would also be known as the introduction, and that tells us that people who wish to make a new country need to explain why. the next two sections list the rights the colonies belive that they should have. the last section proclaims the existence of the new nation.
