    The renaissance was a movement in the century XIV–XVII that started in Italy and was expanded in all Europe. This movement sought recover the ideas of the ancient. Was focused in the humans beings, art, science and education. Arose advances in the pintures, arquitecture and anatomy with artists like Miguel Angel Rafael and writers like Maquiavelo. (Start aprox in 1350 century and end in 1650 aprox))

    There was a man called Filippo Brunelleschi, he was an architect. In 1420 he did a design to made a cheap dome in the Florence Cathedral, Italy. He used bricks, stone, iron, etc....

    It was a sculpture made by Michelangelo. in the sculpture we can see the Virgen Maria taking the body of Jesus after him dead (in the cross). That sculpture represent the pain of a mother, the love that a mother have, etc..

    The reign of Felipe II converted Spain in a world power too (like Carlos I), he governed Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, America and part of Italy, him pronoun was "the Wise King", he kept all the power and he defended the catholicism, he faced conflicts in Netherlands with England and with the Ottoman Empire.

    The rebellion of alpujarras was a revolt in Andalucia against Felipe II. With that revolt they want to mantain their traditions, religion because of rules about their language, clothing and religious practices. After very years facing that, the army defeated the moriscos, very of the moriscas were killed.

    The war of the eighty years was a conflict between Netherlands and Spain, the Netherland's people fought for the independence and the religious freedom because they were protestants and Spain defended the catholocism. The rebels came together in the Union of Utrecht. The war finished with the Peace of Westphalia, which accepted that the north was independent and the south stayed under Spain.

    Was a naval confrontantion between England and Spain, they manage to defeat the Spanish's armada because Spain wanted conquered England. They defeat Spanish' armada because the bad weather of Escocia and Irland and their ships (England's ships)

    It was an sculpture by Gian Lorenzo, it shows the moment when Apollo (God of sun) try to catch Daphne (Ninfa), and Daphne search help of her dad (God of rivers), so him dad transform Apollo in laurel in the moment he touch Daphne.

    Was designed by Gian Lorenzo during Baroque's period under the order of the Pope Alexander VII. Bernini created the square infront of the Peter's Basilica in Vatican. Its like a oval sorrunded by 284 columns in four rows creating two semi-circular arms.

    The neoclassical was a artist style that arose in a reaction of the baroque, searching simplicity and clarity. It was inspired in Greece and Rome, with proportional figures, straight lines, etc..., the topics was historical, mitologycal or moral topics and diferent color (sober colors), examples of Artists that made this art were: Jacques-Louis David who made the Oath of the Horatii, Ingres, Canova, etc...
