Hydrogen used as a coolant in the synchronous generator leaked out and caused the flames to erupt in power catching the roof on fire witch caused the trusses supporting the roof to collapse. -

The NSC or the New Safe Confinement is a massive structure built to encase both the old sarcophagus and the unit 4 reactor while also being able to monitor the radiation levels and the ability to remotely disassemble both the reactor and old sarcophagus using claws on the roof the NSC. The NSW is also made to last 100 years and is classified as the largest mobile structure on earth. -

The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone was the battle zone of a fight between Russian and Ukrainian soldiers, the Russians secured the plant and due to the disturbance in the contaminated soil the radiation levels raised significantly. -
due to the war the power grid in Ukraine had shut down for the Chernobyl site and this ran the risk of unmeasured radiation levels going untreated

Russian forces hand control of the power plant back to the staff leaving the laboratories pillaged, scientific equipment dismantled, destroyed and stolen. -
The unmanned aerial vehicle crashed into the NSC though it caused a large whole in the confinement facility it didn't cause any spicks in radiation levels. though Russia clamed that it was not them.
