    George Marshall proposed the Marshall Plan in 1947. It states that the United States should provide food, machines, and other materials in order to help European countries. This plan was apporved after communism was a major issue in order to help rebuild Western Europe. On April 3, 1948, President Truman signed the bill.

    America as well as Britian drop supplies for the citizens of West Berlin after all of the highways, railways, and water systems were shut down by the Soviet Union. The end of this Airlift came when the Soviet Union claimed defeat and removed the Berlin Blockade.
