In my first semester of community college I went in undecided on my major. I was unsure of what career I wanted to pursue.

In spring of 2018, I began the pre-requisite courses to be able to apply to the nursing program.

COVID hit and I wanted to help as much as I could. I applied for a position at Scripps and got in!
-
I applied to Southwestern and Grossmont community college nursing programs and got rejected for both

For about 2 years I felt super discouraged and felt that nursing wasn't for me due to multiple rejections from a program. I then was made aware of UUN by a coworker of mine and applied, ultimately leading to my acceptance!

After a long wait, I was finally a nursing student. First semester began and flew by so fast.

I am currently enrolled in two classes for a BSN degree while concurrently taking my ADN courses.

If all goes as planned I will hope to graduate by 2026 and be eligible to take my NCLEX and become an RN.

After graduation I hope to pass my NCLEX

The current stepdown unit I work on now has informed me that once I finish school and get my license I will be able to enter their new grad program.
-
Once I complete a new grad program my hopes are to transfer to an ICU to practice critical care nursing.
-
I hope to retire as soon as possible! (I put 2065 because I turn 65 that year... hopefully.)
