    Hitler orders the attack, German 6th Army goes on the offensive, attacking Stalingrad.

    the Germans advanced to the outskirts of Stalingrad city and were prepared to take it but the Russians built up their defenses. but at then end after some reinforcements the Germans were at the middle of the town with the flag up.

    they Russians started their offence and they lit up the sky with rockets and cannons. it rained down on the germans.Soviet ground forces moved through. within a few days the Germans were cut off, and totally surrounded

    The German army were running short of men, supplies and ammunition. The German army should have fought their way out, but Hitler ordered them to stand their ground, this was a fatal mistake
  • trapped in Stalingrad

    The Luftwaffe commanded by Marshal Hermann Goring promised to resupply the Sixth Army from the air but proved unable to do so. winter was starting to set in and it was getting harder to resupply them. so they sent in a rescue mission but it was cut short and the germans were trapped in Stalin grad

    the middle of a harsh winter, with his troops freezing and starving with more then 100 000 casualties happeing he finally gives up on stalin grad

    after this hitler blamed his generals for not winning the battle and he was forced to drive the rest of the war west.
